LG Rumor 2 for Sprint

By Peter Ha, Mobilecrunch

We just got a couple Rumor 2s into the CG office and in the short time we’ve had with the device, we can say that it picks up where the first one left off. The hardware feels sturdy and the keyboard is quite nice. The camera seems like it takes decent pictures (test shot: Canon lens box) when there’s enough light available as well, but we’ve only taken one test shot and it’s so-so. The menu system is pretty straightforward. There are a handful of included apps like, Loopt, Nascar, NFL Mobile and Social Zone. The queerest thing I saw was the “chat & dating” option under messages (the last two images). Anyway, we’ll have a full review soon.

LG Cookie gets upgraded with S-Class interface, 3G, mispelled name

By Greg Kumparak, Mobilecrunch

Just around 6 months after the launch of the LG Cookie (KP500) , LG has announced details of a followup. Because the name “Cookie II” just made too much sense, LG has instead opted to name this second handset “Cooky”, which is not a word.

We had joked that LG had chosen the name “Cookie” because there were no good words left in the phone-naming pool. Now they’re just taking the old names and spelling them wrong.

Anyway – the LG Cooky will be a good bit pricier (around $380, compared to $230), but pack a 3 megapixel camera, TV tuner, the S-Class interface first seen on the Arena, and 7.2mbps HSDPA into a 10.9mm shell (one whole millimeter thinner!). The strength of the original Cookie was its price – this one, we’re not too sure. Oh, and check out the weird external stylus in the shot below.

LG to Launch a Viewty II Handset?

By Chris, Mobilewhack.com

LG’s Viewty phone has been a real hit so LG has decided to create a second version of it. The GC900 is supposed to be follower of the first Viewy phone. It will come with a 3-inch touchscreen display which will boast an 800 x 480 resolution. An 8 megapixel camera is also on board and LG’s S-class 3D UI is there too. The rest of the specs will be similar to Viewty’s specs and the phone should arrive this Spring. It will probably hit South Korea first while other markets will offer it later.
